Karl Hyden – FBU Ireland

Karl Hyden

With 27 years’ experience in management, supervision, training & development disciplines, Karl works as a business mentor, strategist, consultant and master level coach with 17 years’ consultancy, coaching and mentoring experience with SME clients. To date, Karl has supported 1,000+ small and medium businesses owners from 27 countries.

Karl has Masters Degrees in both Human Resource Management and Performance, a primary degree including Interpersonal Communications (Psychology), advanced studies in Organizational Transactional Analysis (Psychology) and qualifications in Mediation and Business Coaching.

He is a Chartered Fellow with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) a Fellow with the Irish Institute of Training & Development (IITD) and a Member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the Institute of Directors (IoD).

In addition to his work with Family Businesses, Karl has coached, trained and consulted for organisations including: Kellogg’s, Irish Life & Permanent, Diageo Ireland, Molex Ireland, UCC, Carphone Warehouse, Tyco Sensormatic, Irish Examiner, McCarthy Insurances, Skillnets, Bioverda (National Toll Roads), the Department of Social Protection, Solus, ETBs and Local Enterprise Offices.

Karl has been working with Succession and other family business related issues in Ireland for more than 10 years. He is a Guest Lecturer in Family Business at UCC Business School and lecturer in coaching on the Ibec/DIT Coaching Diploma programme. Karl has also delivered training & presentations for Kildare LEO, Louth LEO, Cork North LEO and South Dublin Chamber.

Paddy Ryan – FBU Ireland

Paddy Ryan

Over the past twenty-five years Paddy has worked in HR T&D at Director and Executive level. He has worked in heavy Industry, in Hi-tech, Medical Devices as well as Software reselling and Construction; leading teams across Europe, the Middle East and Asia for Global and international businesses. Most recently he headed up the Human Resources Department Mercury Engineering a major Irish based international business.

Throughout his career the one constant driver has been the development of people. The senior positions filled in, the UK and Ireland with British Steel and Smith & Nephew and mainland Europe with Software Spectrum and Insight, US multinational and global companies have focussed on best practice HR and leading edge Training and Development.

Paddy has MA (HRM), BA (Hons) Mgt., Advanced Dip in Executive Coaching; He is A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, Fellow of the ILM, Member of the British Psychological Society and Member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) and Institute of Directors (IoD).

Paddy manages and lectures on the Coaching Diploma programme for Ibec / DIT and has lectured in Human Resource Management at the Irish Management Institute. Paddy has delivered Family Business training for Kildare and Louth LEOs as well as South Dublin Chamber.
